infamous01 Posted March 19, 2008 Share Posted March 19, 2008 I think using the term "White people" is rather rascist, is a "white" newzealander the same as some "white" guy in Finland, or the same as a "White" guy from the states? not at all... people are just affraid off things/people that are different from them an their Normality. so you get racism, its weather you actively hate on other races that makes you a rascist. i.e burning crosses, violent attacks, constant abuse etc etc, . Guest Posted March 20, 2008 Share Posted March 20, 2008 (edited) I love Brazilians! i'd also like to take the time to speculate on wether racism maybe an inherent survival tactic amongst humans? i propose two reasons; theory1:our primal instincts are wired for survival, and as so, one of our first programme codes is to treat anything unknown as dangerous. ie; something moves in your periphery, you dont know what it is, first response "fight or flight". so, with that in mind, any race(or religion or culture, even sub-culture for that matter) which is unknown or foreign to our own, that we have no knowledge of, is automatically filed by our brain into the "dangerous" sub-routine and dealt in with in one of many ways. some of those ways being, ignore it-furthur prolonging the problem, ridicule it-helps brain declassify from "dangerous" to "ridiculous", or to try and fight/revolt against it, ie;civil war/ lobbying against it etc... theory2: it's within our nature to want to preserve and prolong our own genes... the punnet square quote goes something like "i would give my life for two brothers, four sisters, sixteen cousins...etc", i've probably got that a bit mixed up, but the gist of it is, we want to be survived for eternity. theres some spark deep within our subconscious that tells us we need to leave something of ourselves behind on this planet. ie;children. when we interact with other races, we become a less dominant species. not very conducive to ensuring the survival of our own genes... so the brain kicks into a hunter/survivor type of mentality which tells it to fear and reject the foreign race. as a)unsuitable for breeding, and b) a threat to our own chances of breeding. thats why we are naturally predisposed to be a attracted to members of our own race. that doesnt include all you sick fucks out there with "jungle fever", or those of you who like "exotic" creatures, or want some "freakey white boy action"...etc. both theories eventually sum up the same aspects of our neanderthal roots, and in this day and age, you think we'd have learnt how to subvert these subroutines for the sake "humanity". but we havent. not yet. i'd say the best "solution" to the issue of racism, is that we all as individuals, seek to empower ourselves with knowledge of other cultures, and persons from those cultures to help our monkey brains elvolve and do all of our(hopefully mixed)offsprings a favour. offsprings, is that a word? NewZealand=Land of the Long White Stereotypes list... i grew up in grey lynn, back when it wasn't a yuppie investment zone, so I can proudly say "I aint racist, I'm just a normal guy who has learnt that "real kiwi blokes" beleive the following...." Asians; can't drive(IT'S A SCIENTIFIC FACT, that the windscreen glass impairs vision/depth perception in their gen pool) Indians;rip-off artists(check your change every time you go to a gasso/dairy do ya?)
