zeb Posted October 20, 2008 Share Posted October 20, 2008 3 people have $10 each and all decide to buy a stereo which is $30. they make the purchase but on the way out the store clerk realises the stereo is only $25 but he cant decide how to split up the $5 change evenly,so he gives them all a dollar each and keeps $2 for himself. now this means they only put in $9 each. 3x9=27 27+2=29 where the fuck is the other dollar???? im shit as at maths but can someone please figure this out,its being doing my head in all day. joachim Posted October 22, 2008 Share Posted October 22, 2008 i assume that 11 in binary is 10? There are 10 types of people. Those who know Binary and those who do not know Binary. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Dr Awesome Posted October 22, 2008 Share Posted October 22, 2008 i assume that 11 in binary is 10? 11 = 3 0 = 0 1 = 1 10 = 2 11 = 3 100 = 4 101 = 5 (4 -> 5 is what confuses most people) 110 = 6 and so on and so forth. a binary 1 represents where along the base2 scale where a number is 128 64 32 16 8 4 2 1 (0) --------------------1 1---- = 3 (aka, a 2 and a 1) ------1--0--0--1-02------ = 74 (aka a 64, an 8 and a 2) Anyways...
