Grind
Oh and a prediction for 2009.. '80s hair metal to have a resurgence!
mike
IMHO if not 2009, 2010 will be all bout the resurgence of the late 80's feelgood hip-hop vibe (but watered down) - including the bright/fluro clothes (already started with post-rave shite and some things lower have out, but will be even more so)
thr339z
my prediction for the year of the 09 is that 90's grunge post hair metal will be back in fashion but the music they produce will be ultra glitch core with dub step bass lines and accapella barbershop vocals but with loads of distortion. I also predict that a dj will bust out a set playing not on vinyl not on serato but mixing off cassette or DAT tapes @ pchaos loving the kropotkin stuff!!! remember the krondstad! perceptualChaos
Perceptual Chaos's Prediction for 2009 & Beyond The US Wall street bailout plan mitigates the current recession but leads to excessive borrowing from China to pay for all the tax cuts and bad debt they're taking on and fails to solve the root cause of the problem - namely economic liberalization (unregulated capitalism) and the dwindling supply of oil. SUV sales go back up in response to the currently deflated oil prices and people go back to their lives as normal but eventually shit hits the fan again and world leaders wake up from their game of monopoly at the blatant realization that they're not winning anymore, and get back to real business - nuclear holocaust. Teknik
The vocoder craze will be taken to the next level when harmony is introduced. At first it will be pretty basic male/female duet biz, quickly evolving to vocoder barbershop groups and by the end of the year, full gregorian chant choirs. Damnit I'm trying to find the episode of Michael Moore's 'The Awful Truth' where he gets a bunch of smokers that have holes in their windpipes and vocoders singing xmas carols outside a tobacco sales exec building...
