Grind
I know there's a few fans in here.. this is where we can talk NRL smack, discuss results, make bets, share videos etc. Warriors are looking very strong on paper this year with depth and attacking threats across the park. Ivan Cleary has done exceptionally well in the coaching role imo. This has gotta be the best chance we've had at the title so far! 2 from 2 so far.. bring on the Broncos tonight at home! phonetics
i wasn't really into rugby until i got here, it was never in the limelight to the extent english football is/was. now that i'm immersed in it here; i love a good game i've got a mate coming for a holiday in early May and he's keen to check it out as much as i am, although we are both newbs to the kiwi game, any recommendations for a decent fixture around that time? Teret
great thread. game kicks off 730 Mount Smart already has swarms of people on the streets, another sell out imo. Last night's Super 14 game is the last game of rugby I'm watching till test season, so its full focus on what is arguably the best sporting league in the world. Yeah, i was at that game, sooo shit, Blues don't even know how to play rugby anymore. Agree Super 14 is up to fuckall in general.. I also agree NRL is one of the best comps in the world. Phonetics there looks to be an NRL/Warriors homegame in May: http://www.warriors.co.nz/season/2009-nrl--nyc-draw/results---vodafone-warriors League is the more exciting, easier to follow version of the game btw, better for newcomers so would recommend taking your mate
dj-control
this is where the warriors are at their best imo, up against the best teams they seem to lift their game, i hope stacey can go all the way without injuries{fingers crosses} he is what the warriors have lacked - players who can close the deal , hold tight for a thrilling season chaps! im fucking hyped! ps... hands up all the ex/current league players in here who used to play and what teams you played for? me glenora bears manurewa marlins anywhere in the backline but right winger untill i got to under16's then fullback/utility back

Grind
Jesus that was shit. One way traffic all night. At least the NRL is a lonnnnng season so there's plenty of time to improve. Not overly fussed about losing Brent Tate for the season, bit of a waste of space most of the time.

Guest
fair call. it was just that i heard that the game versus broncos was set to be a scorcher and we were supposed to whomp them so i actually took the time to sit down and watch this one... gutted it was so dismal. also, was equally stunned to see pink shirts on a footy field. an age old taboo for fans all ober the world i reckon.?. so as for the pink shirt/ref thing = geniune question. if it was for visibilty, why didnt they use yellow? thats the most visible colour to the human eye. is there already a team who wears fluoro yellow? Grind
yeah not sure bro, i guess it must be for the whole visibility/colour clash thing, as there certainly isn't any pink teams to contend with. kinda funny when you consider the refs are traditionally the battiest folk on the field

Grind
can finally bump this thread again because the warriors actually put in a half-respectable performance and came away with the win storming 2-try debut from kevin locke in replace of the useless denan kemp, this kid has a huge future ahead of him!
Subverse
agreed! so stoked so see kemp out and locke in his place ripping up! that line he ran for the first try was epic ... what a debut! good to see the rain didnt stop us throwing the ball around
