Ignition
Yeah pretty gutted. Smashed into a curb on a corner to avoid a stupid cat and fucked the front left drivetrain. Snapped the lower control arm and bent the axle. Coz the wheel wasn't secured by the control arm it went right into the back of the arch, basically shredded the ($400) tyre and bent the front/side panel. The mag is completely fucked from curbbage too. It's a 2002 WRX Sedan and yeah I got full insurance but the excess is fucking high. Been speaking to mechanic and panel beater mates and it may not be as bad as I first suspected, but they're coming around tonight for a proper analysis. I'm just stoked that I didn't hit anything else (i.e. cat, another car, person) or injure myself, and that my engine is in tact. The main thing I'm sketching out about at this stage is whether the chassis is twisted.
zzzp
yeh knarly. feel for ya. least you got insurance, i think youd be hard pressed to bend the chassis, ive seen some nissans slam the curb fuking hard n it was just a subframe, control/tractionarm & wheel replacement, but its all speculation without seeing it.. hope the front driveshaft didnt do any damage to the gearbox itself, havnt heard of it happening but who knows.. insurance will hate on ya but least your ass is covered.. all the best!! Guest
MC Woody VERSUS the State of Mind live set. It's not often an mc takes over a show of this calibre. by the end of it I was managing to tune him out by staring very intently at pat n stu to see what they were bringing up next. Woody seemed to be oblivious to the music(apart from obviously rehearsed sections) though. i had to stop my girl throwing rocks at him at one stage when he said, "who's f&*ing wasted?! which one of you bitches wants to F$#k me?!" maybe he was just really wasted. i dunno, but by the end of the set, he was a bit of a buzzkill in my opinion. C Steppa
I'm currently in Vancouver and have been to quite a few dubstep/dnb gigs over here and the only MC i have seen at one of them was MC Nomad with Joker. It has been so refreshing to go to gigs and not have them completely destroyed by some douche that thinks he can MC. So many of the gigs i went to before i left NZ were ruined by terrible MCs, LD, Coki/Loefah to name a few. You dont need an MC all the time. Guest
wow - im pretty amazed that sort of shit came out of his mouth? doesn't sound very woody-like. well, i was expecting good tings from this guy, and indeed, anyone billed to play WITH S>O>M. I'm sure he's a good guy, and i'm not saying he's a shit MC, just he didnt really have a good show, in fact, pretty much STOLE the show imo. (ie; standing at the edge of the stage in front of Pat n Stu with his arms out like the messiah on one particular epic drop point) And like I said before, maybe he was just really wasted, I of all people know whats it like to get a tad bit TOO mashed on stage and forget half of the profound shit you were about to spit for the crowd... BUT - saying fuck about a hundred times during the night, asking the crowd repeatedly if they're wasted, and getting the girls to put their left hands in the air while the guys put their right hands up is not really top billing material. Reform
Woody's mint. SOM have been round longer that Woody, and have moved to take him on tour etc, betcha everythin he does on stage has been done before, with them, and later on they've given their nod in their own way as to whether or not they wanna see that shit again. They're targeting from an Australasian base, the same sorta crowd that Brookes Bro's and Sigma do from the Uk. Showmanship is key, and I reakon from their Phat set, there's fuckin heaps of room for more proper crowd gatherers with the NZ scene.. Like a gateway drug, to take em from Shapeshifter to the Upbeats. And Joobzy's done what most of us wouldn't dare. The equivalant of turning up at gig's with ya record bag when ya don't know how to beatmatch. He's gettin heaps better, and hat's off I reakon. But yeah, he can jam on your set, I'm sweet. Guest
and before y'all think i'm hating.... I have only put this topic up as a rant because i had nothing else to rant about. And to clear something up I actually did like MOST of what MC Woody did on stage, i just started to focus more on the music BEHIND him as he got more and more wasteder(but tbh, so did I) This was more at wack MCing in general. So, yeah all good in the Wood.
