penco
those parking wardens know that they are hated. when you see them walking around the city past 7 or 8 at night they are always acompanied by a security guard. I can imagine drunks coming back to their car and roughing up the paki that gave him a $200-$400 fine.

baseline
anyone else care to share their parking warden experiences? i have plenty unfortunately $600 worth in the month of June alone! All entirely my fault though tbh i got done for no warrant, no rego on my motorbike twice in 1 week and it was just parked outside my house in the burbs! $800 fucking dollars. after the 2nd one i wheeled my bike up onto my porch till i got a warrant. wish that cunt came back for a 3rd while i was home!! You can appeal the second one on the grounds that you have 28 days from the first one to get it sorted AFAIK.

Pakage
my internet got disconnected today coz there was $20 outstanding on the account. I rang up and said id pay it when my pay comes through next week but the dude wouldnt unlock my account for a measly $20. I can understand thats their policy and whatever. but it was still pretty lame. Then i asked my step mum if i could give her $20 which i had in my wallet and use her credit card to pay the bill over the phone. That was all good with her so i call back and pay the $20 then they transfer me from billing to technical to get the net switched back on. I was on hold for like 10minutes and then someone finally answers and i explain to the dude that ive just paid my bill and i need my net switched back on and he says "Yeah, ive already done it for you while you were on hold. I read the notes and did it for you". Thanks dude, but dont you think that instead of answering the call and putting me back on hold without even talking to me, making me think that your call centre is useles is a bit stupid and it would have been nice to include me, the customer, in the loop? asshead. bit of a weak rant, but still. Guest
orcon? those mofos have been messing us around since day dot. everytime something goes wrong and we call, they make us feel like complete moron's. do nothing and then the second or third time calling, say, oh yes, it does say that here in the notes thanks. lately i discovered/calculated we were getting charged for two plans so call them to have it sorted. turns out they owe us money so credit the account. sweet as... but lo and behold - the very next "billing period" which is confusing as fuck not to be month to month - it is on there again in the bill as two plans. so i ring them to sort it and after ages on hold the result is that the internet is now on hold pending "dispute resolutions". even though my account is in credit and they admitted last month to be at fault over the same issue. lucky the neighbours around here have d-link for me to hook into while they sort it out... mike
http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10589771 Excuse me for telling you kids to get off my lawn cause I haven't been doing this too long but... where do I start? Show them that and let them go on their way? What happened to just having a love for discovering and sharing music? A course can't teach you this. Teaching kids how to download the top 10 tunes from beatport might be an exaggeration, but I would have thought any kid who would want to do this course would already have a set of decks and be practicing? Also being a DJ as a career? If you want to do commercial radio and voice ads then sure. Want to play weddings and afterballs/parties? Get in there. There are already courses that teach radio, so besides beat matching and scratching/beat juggling what is this course going to teach that you won't learn after a year or so? Learning up to the minute technology involves knowing about the latest mixer or cdj? Unless they teach VJ'ing as well. Then again I think the health and safety part is smart - wearing earplugs and knowing where the fire exits are to escape groupies is essential After RTFA it sounds more like a watered down MAINZ course if they expect the graduates to do soundtracks for tv etc Someone tell me this course does more than what I think it does How To DJ Properly/Last Night A DJ Saved My Life are two essential reads that say it all really, so just read those kids I don't know what the likes of Bugsy and Control, and all the other more experienced guys think of this, they would be in a far better position to comment
perceptualChaos
While I wouldn't recommend anyone I know to go to a course like that, I don't think it's such a bad thing having it there. It's only a certificate course so we're talking pretty low level, and it'd mostly be high-school dropouts who don't really know what they're up to who will be doing it. I think a course like this could be useful for these kids, to find something they're passionate about it and do something constructive which would be hard to do without that kind of opportunity. Agree on the high school dropout thing - but they could spend the course fees on the equipment, learn for themselves and if they didn't like ii sell it afterwards. More rewarding teaching yourself really. These courses going to be paid for by the govt loan scheme?

These courses going to be paid for by the govt loan scheme? yeah they could with hindsight, but when you're not already really into a specific genre like dnb and you're starting from scratch with nobody to guide you, and you don't have any money or a job, and you don't have a lot of motivation to do stuff on your own cause you're normally stoned, but DJ'ing sounds like something you might be interested in - then this course could be a great way to get started. Once they get their certificate they might move onto one of the more advanced courses and find they're really into the audio engineering thing and branch out. I think just being in a creative learning environment like that can be really useful for some kids.

Merge
Office bitches at Subway who order for their entire office over a double sided sheet of A4. I know its my own fault for going to subway but my decision making is somewhat impaired at the moment. On that note......three day hangovers oh shit. here comes a subway rant... things that 'subway artists' do that grind my gears: 1. Ask what cheese, condiments etc i want on my sandwich, and then completely disregard what I tell them, or repeat the question every step of the way. 2. Attempt to place a chicken fillet onto a sandwich for toasting only, as if the toasting machine cooks the chicken to the same degree as a microwave... Heated separately people.. 3. Attempt to conserve ingredients by giving u a 'sprinkle' of lettuce. 4. Put the wrong ingredient on your sub after youve especially requested it not be included, attempt to 'pick off' ingredient such as carrot - and giving up when there is still obviously remains of said ingredient on sub. 5. Not using gloves 6. Salt and peppering my sub til i can no longer see my ingredients. 7. Either absolutely DRENCHING sub in a sauce, or drizzling an extremely minute amount - apparently there is no healthy medium. and the ultimate.. 8. Not even attempting to fold the sub so that the ingredients stay in the bread, my sandwich now looks like a jackson pollock piece sprawled across the wrapping paper. thr339z
Bus Drivers. It amazes me how useless they can be. Especially the link. I think they are the worst examples. Ok so I know they have a hard job and they get paid shit. but really? Today it took an hour and fortyfive minutes to get from parnell to ponsonby (via town) . Sounds rediculous I know but well..Obviously its the norm . KI got on the bus in parnell to a horde of millions of people all talking extremely loudly in various languages. Im not against people talking but treally do you have to yell at the top of your voice to your mate sitting next to you. We traveled down the road and people get off and on as they do. We hit the stop accross the road from britomart and I finally got a seat ,which was good. but then the driver sat there for a good ten minutes? why? who knows... he then slowly and I mean SLOWWWLY drove up queen st ,must have been driving at like 10kms an hour. We then crawled towards vic park (at this stage I had been sitting on the bus for 35 minutes) . When we got to Vic park the bus driver let people off and then sat there. not moving staring into the distance...He say there for 25 minutes, much to annoyance of the other people on the bus, with one older man getting very annoyed and voicing his opinion to the bus driver as we all watched. The old man got off muttering to him self . Did this shake the driver up? nope he sat there for another 10 minutes . The bus driver finally came out of his mini coma and started the bus up and drove on..... Finally I got to my destination 30 minutes late.... bastards /end rant

Grind
That stuff barely resembles chicken anyway Subway is skody. The salads/vegetables might be standard but everything else seems to be processed to the max. And as explained they are jewish with their serving sizes and pretty much useless all-round.. There's a dope place for sandwiches on Richmond Rd called "Sliced", pretty expensive but it's all quality organic produce... So damn tasty. jagermikester
Check out Habitual fix in Beaumont st, or there is a new one on customs st, dope sandwhiches and salads... No $3.90 bizniss though...
C Steppa
Agree. Subway is crap! Their meat is terrible, salads not much better. The tomatoes are weird as.... Sliced is epic! Won a free sandwhich coffee and cake off base and have been back a few times since. Theres a pita place thats been on the shore for a while and now theres one on vulcan lane. It's called Pita Pit. Pretty dam good! http://www.pitapit.co.nz/ I am always buying lunch in the city cause i never make my lunch and seedy asian food courts like mercury plaza are the best value for money i reckon. So tasty, so cheap and real decent size.
