snowflake
if you haven't been to Meredith's yet then I recommend you save your allowance went there a few months ago and it was flavour city the portions were tiny of course as you would expect but the food was so rich that you felt bloated by the end of the meal even though you hadn't eaten a great deal memorable moments include the coconut foam with mandarin, I wasn't expecting the foam to taste so salty but it contrasted nicely against the sweetness of the fruit the mushroom custard was amazing, I tried to eat it in tiny little bites so that I could make it last as long as possible the cinnamon brulee needs a mention because it came out with two tiny slices of dehydrated granny smith apple that, honestly, were nothing to look and could have been mistaken for garnish but they held the most intense flavour farking expensive though, expect it to set you back at least a couple of hundy for 3 courses and 1 glass of wine each

Aphra
The Ponsonby food court Japanese is the best dinner box, chicken box.. its all good. that japanese place is mean! i love getting my food in a compartmentalized tray You misquoted me. Just for the record... I don't think it's the best Japanese ever. lol. and Snowflake: haven't been to Meredith's but we did the 11 course degustation at the French Cafe.. the food was crazy! So intense. I've never fitted so much in in one sitting. Set you back $140 I think. A degustation is something everyone must do before they die

baseline
I'm no Auckland specialist, but Mezze on Durham St (maybe, just up from Vulcan Lane on Queen St), does fucking good Tapas.

Looking to the fill the void the Blowfish once occupied. Kura is the best imo, still haven't found anywhere that can top it. As for sushi, Bian on Symonds St do the best in Auckland. Or did, I haven't been there in a while

I've never fitted so much in in one sitting. Set you back $140 I think. A degustation is something everyone must do before they die oh yes! that's on my list of must do's when we ate at Meredith's I had to choose between that, French Cafe, Clooney's or O'Connell St Bistro and Meredith's had just won the Metro Best Restaurant so that was that I really enjoyed my meal at The Engine Room in Northcote, I had a cheese souffle and the veal. It was decent! Cost 150 for two people, entree and main each and two glasses of wine each. Big meals too! Too big in fact because it meant we didn't have room for dessert. +1 for food alley cheap eats I also enjoy GPK for casual dining but the Ponsonby one, not Takapuna. Also Monterey Cafe in Grey Lynn is my new fave. The zuchinni fritters are awesome eating with capers, hollandaise and salmon. Also the eggs benedict are tasty. I really want to try the Decadent Dutch Baby but apparently it takes half an hour to make and I'm always starving when I go there so do not have the patience to order it. Want food and now please. perceptualChaos
Haven't done this for years but basically, break 2-4 eggs into bowl, pour like 1/4-1/2 cup milk or milk substitute into the bowl, whisk till constant consistency, add salt & pepper, cook for 30s at a time; stirring after each 30s till it's cooked how you like it

You don't do scrambled eggs in the microwave. Non-stick pan, preferably thick which evenly spreads heat Very low heat Butter Eggs Slowly cook, keeping them moving Turn off the heat just before they are ready Season once they are cooked, not before Scrambled eggs.....done
