naturally stood to wipe my arse...

sitting and wiping just doesn't feel natural

What part about sitting on a porcelain bowl with a plastic lid, taking a dump and flushing the contents through an elaborate network of pipes with chlorinated water to then clean your anus with machine pressed/bleached plant cellulose was natural in the first place?

There's no fluoride in that example so it sounds pretty natural to me.

  • 1 month later...

So there is an Ethiopian cleaner at my work who came to NZ as a refugee a few years back, thoroughly decent dude.

In the last 6 months, the poor guy has had the kind of luck you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy. He's been randomly beaten up so badly he needed facial reconstruction, his wife has been diagnosed with cancer, and now, his sister in law was killed in that house fire in Waterview. His nasty boss wouldn't even let him have a single day off work because technically in laws don't count as 'immediate' family...

He supports a big extended family on his cleaners wage, working 15 hour days 6/7 days a week and has now taken full time care of his sister in law's children. I felt super bad for the guy after this awful run of luck, so I thought I would do a little collection at work and maybe get some Toy World vouchers or something so he could get chrissy presents for his nieces and nephews - I thought I'd get maybe $100.

After a day of collecting, turns out I managed to raise over $1000.00 from my colleagues for him and his family! Chucked it on a prezzy card that he can use anywhere that takes eftpos and will be giving it to him on Monday next week

Thanks guys. I ended up going to see the family today to pass it on so that they would be able to use it for the service if they need to.

I was conscious of not intruding in their time of mourning but they insisted I stay and drink tea with them, what an amazing bunch of people. After all that they have been through, the whole Ethiopian community has come together so tightly to get through this together.
