Nato
It's a shame but from what I'm seeing not totally suprising. At Up FM so few people use the turntables that I have to take my own needles up if I want to use them...

mike
Can someone link to an actual Panasonic announcement on this? Hopefully another manufacturer steps up
Grind
The rumour circulated out of DMC Auckland from an email they received from Panasonic. Sounds like they're not discontinuing Technics turntable altogether, it's just certain brands in certain countries.

I guess anyones welcome, although you know, you'd assume that the marketing and distribution departments of Technics/Panasonic would be better placed than anyone to work out whether or not it's viable! Phil O
would be gay if they got discontinued, but on the bright side think of how much the value of second hand technics would jump up!

Boutique importing has worked for other products. No reason a third party can't step in

Pakage
From Dr Google; So here goes - the 1200MK5 and 1210MK5 WILL be discontinued leaving the 1210MK5G as the top of the range and most definitely NOT discontinued. It never was a limited edition, just a flagship special edition model. And the 1200 and 1210 MK2 will continue as normal. So now there's some distance between the MK2 and MK5G models instead having a middle MK5 deck to confuse matters. So it's vanilla Technics or the more expensive piano black extra pitched blue light luxury model left in the range. unwet your pants everybody
mike
I'm sure that I saw that message from 2007 when rumours of this first came up. Been told its just that Aus and NZ are no longer getting any imported. At least that looks to be the message from DMC etc
