But seriously, this is what I get local:

 

And San Jose:

 

Our upstream provider is Orcon, and Internet has definitely been noticeably slower lately. I find torrents still go incredibly fast, but general web browsing e.g. youtube is pretty much fucked.

Interesting that Orcon would have poor Youtube speed as they operate a local Youtube cache (you must be loading non-cached videos, so you may notice that commonly watched vids are really fast in comparison). Possibly explains why ZPak's refresh technique works (first hit loads file into server cache, 2nd hit loads directly from cache).

Try youtube in Chrome using the new html5 beta.. peooooooowwwwwwww

Understandably I'm getting fucked off with xnet.

i have noticed this at home lately, WTF? the first few days were off the chain.

 

as for work,

noticeably faster than this at times though depending on TOD

Should it even be this slow when it's capped?

Interesting that it says ihug when we are on Vodaphone.

 

yeah, theres 1000Kb in a Mb so if your cap is 64Kbps, then it should actually slow down to 0.06Kbps, so 0.08Kbps is actually above your capped speed.

 

oh and ihug got bought out by vodafone a few years back eh
