Grind
Scorsese - Goodfellas and Casino are all-time favourites of mine.. also Taxi Driver, Raging Bull -classics. Love his depictions of New York. Always gets awesome performances out of his actors. Stone - Natural Born Killers, JFK, Born On The 4th July, Platoon.. hard-hitting stuff. Lynch - nuff said you either love him or you don't.. Blue Velvet and Twin Peaks are my faves Can't think of 2 more but I'm sure my memory will be jogged by someone else in this thread.

thr339z
Heres mine..... In no paticular order. Richard Kelly.... I appreciate his narritive style and metaphysical ways I would argue that he is the "lynch" of our generation Oliver Stone. I love his vision. his story telling hooks and his directorial style he is a feindish perfectionist and loves to challange and entertain Stanley Kubrick....A master all his films are deep hard and heavy.. I love the way he fucks over his actors and makes them "Be" the roles... His eye is superb and he bends my mind everytime RIP Peter Greenaway... Many belive he is another art film cunt, maybe he is> but to me his depictions of the maddness of society and reality are amongst the best of the autuears David Lynch... from eraserhead to straight story from dune to inland empire Lynch mystifies me, When I sit down and watch his steez Im always speechless,,, truly next level bizzo everytime and a tie Lars Von trier/David Blyth Von triers visual style known as dogma 95 which REFUSES to play by the rules by never using static locked off shots , only shooting hand held , never using incidental music and always having naturalistic back drops spices up my cinematic appitite, its edgey and hyper real... gritty and subtle ... David Blyth... Nzs undisputed godfather of horror... a great man with an impeccable eye hot on the heels of another favorate of mine Alexandro Joderwowsky<< not mentioned as he falls in to number 6 posistion... Blyth is a metaphysical master of the cinema of unease and a mentor and a great freind that i have been lucky enough to leran under and work along side with... Pakage
why Michael bay? The depth of character the Bayster achieves is simply astounding. Leaves me blown away every time. IMO the only true storyteller of our generation. As for the other 4 in my top 5. No one even comes close to Michael Bay in my opinion, so im simply nominating him 5 times over for my top 5 directors of all time. /thread
Nato
I'm not sure I can get a full 5 in. No particular order. Quentin Tarantino - Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs were 2 movies which were on high rotation for me as a young teenager. Along side the Kill Bill volumes these movies will always stand out as highlights for me. Wes Anderson - Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Life Aquatic, The Darjeeling Limited, Fantastic Mr Fox. All awesome, certainly a touch of "one trick pony" about them but he does what he does so well. Scorsese - He's obviously going to be mentioned a few times in this thread but fair enough...Raging Bull, Goodfellas, Casino, Bringing Out the Dead, The Departed etc. Classics. Christopher Nolan - Memento, Dark Night, Inception. Can't wait to see where he goes from here. I might add another one on here later.
C Steppa
Tarantino - Cliche choice, but enjoyed almost all of his films. Natural Born Killers, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill all epic. Really enjoyed Inglorious Bastards as well. Francis Ford Coppola - Haven't seen all his films but Apocalypse Now, Godfather, Godfather II were awesome. He's done some shockers.... Jack and Godfather III but meh I really enjoy Coen Brothers films as well. Big Lebowski, Fargo, No Country for Old Men. Again haven't seen their entire filmography but keen. Will keep updating as more come to mind

Grind
Tarantino - Cliche choice, but enjoyed almost all of his films. Natural Born Killers Natural Born Killers is Oliver Stone.. pretty sure just Tarintino wrote the draft of the screenplay or something. Surprised that Stanley Kubrick has only been mentioned once. Grind
Yeah.. not actually the hugest Kubrick fan. Not going to argue about his skills or anything (pretty safe to say he's one of the all-time greats) but personally 'The Shining' is the only film of his I really love.
