Me too and I also really like the same bass sample being used in every track. Really added a nice flow to the album. Buy on shite!

  • 7 months later...

This guy is so fucking unintentionally funny... I posted a comment on his youtube channel (but this appears to be his main one) recommending him to give up producing because his production sucks and there is like zero improvement in any of his tunes which all sound the same. Read the following exchange of messages which ensues:

Your comment on my channel

Thanks.

I am not making any music anymore.

I feel enormous relief.

Thank you.

Questions to your comment on my channel

For example: Quality and using the same sounds.

Q1 Sound quality

Could you be so kind and inform me who is breaking into my computer damaging sound quality in my tunes?

Q2 Using the same sounds

Could you be so kind and inform me why millions of fans of rock music don't have problems whith the same sounds same guitars and same parcution used in rock music since over 50 years?

Please provide sufficient explanation to your answers

At this point I felt slightly sympathetic as he didn't seem to have a clue, so I tried to give some constructive feedback:

Re: Questions to your comment on my channel

I'm talking about production quality, not sound quality... You have a long long way to go before thinking about posting your tunes all over the internet or thinking about an album.

The main problem is the lack of any "vibe", detailed soundscape/creative sound design, or even musically interesting ideas. Also the mixdown quality... for example the bass has no depth and completely saturates the mix, the drums are barely audible and seem to be lacking in substance.

If you really want to improve your mixdowns, learn how to use EQ and all of your other plugins properly and listen to your music critically (preferably with studio monitors, but at least on very good headphones) and compare with dnb artists that you respect. Try to get your beats to sound solid like theirs do (don't be afraid to layer old funk breaks to add depth and cohesion: http://www.junglebreaks.co.uk/breaks.html). You can try reading and asking questions on "The Grid" on DOA if you need tips.

Here are a few songs that I think have excellent production that you could use as a reference (buy them to hear higher sound quality versions):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2SQKJQDlRo

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IVmV1Ehl4k

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4Lf-lp_APg

The bleepy sound with the banal melody that goes through your tune (and pretty much all of your tunes that I listened to) needs to go IMO. Make more use of pads in the intros etc, and more importantly - find some new samples/plugins (for samples ZeroG Firestorm and Vengeance Essential Clubsounds are quite good). If you like that bleepy vibe in your tunes, you can do much better... For example listen to some old concord dawn (remember at the point they made this they were using fruity loops 3 or something and very young / not particularly experienced at producing)

Even Bad Company:

Anyway, I hope that was more constructive than my original comments. Good luck.

Re: Questions to your comment on my channel

First you tell me to forget about making music and now you tell my how can I improve my music. You sound suspicious. I know what's wrong with it and your lecture is pointless.

There was one man like you who has sent me similar messages. I said it to him and I'll say it to you: IF YOU WANT TO HELP BUY ME THE BEST RECORDING STUDIO WITH THE BEST EQUIPMENT AND THE BEST PROGRAMMES.

...and you'll not have a single problem with my music.

Look at my making music the way I look at it. I treat it as a hobby because professional music making is beyond my income (in your words "isn't for me"). Last time I was working on some tune someone was just playing with the volume and balance through the wire. It was so irritating that I'm not doing my hobby anymore.

And most of all:

Why everyone is calling an acoustic sound of saxophone a "bleepy sound"?

...because you haven't answered who is breaking into my computer damaging my work. Not only into my computer. When I downloaded MS - Time it sounded OK for the programme I use and three days later all tune became very "bleepy".

Re: Questions to your comment on my channel

Well I was just trying to give you some constructive feedback so that you could understand why lots of people don't like your music. Nobody broke into your computer... I guess you just can't hear why people think the music is shit.

Anyway, I don't have time to talk to you anymore. I recommend not advertising your music all over the internet if you don't want to receive these kind of messages.

Re: Questions to your comment on my channel

Don't bullshit me with this "constructive feedback" and answer this simple question. It's a simple question: Why eveyone is calling an acoustic sound of saxophone a "bleepy sound"?

I was downloading my music on dnb websites looking for more of my fans and I notice there are only music makers like you not fans on these forums. Music makers who are struggling with competition and don't like any music which isn't theirs or their friends. Don't call these few of you sitting on those sites "lots of people".

Don't worry I'll leave your dnb sites alone according to your recomendation.

He seems to like sending messages in pairs

Re: Questions to your comment on my channel

Don't bullshit me with this "Nobody broke into your computer..." and answer this simple question:

Why an acoustic sound of saxophone is being called by many a "bleepy sound"?

I tell you what is your problem. You're a music maker and when you look through the window you see just the glass and nothing behind.

I make music for myself and for my fans not for music makers like you. I checked your dnb sites and noticed that on these forums there are only music makers not music listeners so I left your websites alone without your recommandation.

Re: Questions to your comment on my channel

You are hilarious... It doesn't matter where the sample originated from, the timbre is 'bleepy', and it sounds like shit. Bye.

"YOU'RE FULL OF SHIT"

You haven't answered my simple question which means that you and everything you wrote to me is...

"FULL OF SHIT"

Now go and have problem with one kickdrum in some Netsky tune because it's slightly "bleepy" and 0.4 too loud on volume because...

"YOU'RE FULL OF SHIT"

And tell all of them to braek this TECHNO (intro-tune-outro) composition like they broke the beat because...

I'M GOING TO MAKE SOME DRUM'N'BASS

Now get lost

YOU ARE HILARIOUS

"You are hilarious..."

It's like you were for exaple a full-time economy student and over the weekend you were playing tennis just for fun and I was giving you advises (constructive feedback) how to be a professional tennis player.

Look how he plays and take some examples from him:

You could use this game as reference. It's professional:

They were developing first electric percution:

And they were usinng first samplers:

YOU ARE HILARIOUS

The latest update: he is still sending me messages in a fit of rage after I started ignoring him 6 messages ago. In short, this time he is implying his tunes will work on the dancefloor, that Break, Calyx & Teebee, and Ed Rush & Optical are all "unpleasant for the ear" and not of "outstanding talent". For someone that makes such absolutely fucking rubbish music, his standards sure are high rofl.

Yes. I know. You checked the average listener (crowd reaction). You played one of my tunes on the concert and the floor was empty in few seconds.

It's like you would go to any supermarket and ask them to close the place and forget about this business because this supermarket has broken vegtables, dirty floor and doesn't have your favourite crisps with your favourite deep flavour.

YOU ARE HILARIOUS

If you do not wish to receive any more of this kind of messages don't be a wiseguy with me.

These three links. In every tune basses are roaring. I found this roaring noise very unpleasent for the ear. The composition in all of them is average. I wouldn't talk about outstanding talent in all three tunes. One thing that is good in these tunes is the quality. And I bet a fiver that 1/4 of this Calyx and TeeBee video youtube viewers played the video only because of the picture.

Pretty sure this guy has just invented an off-shoot of Drum and Bass... I'm going to coin it... "Drum and Bleepy"

Does anyone have any clue what the fuck he is going on about here? Best guess is he is trying to say his headphones kept cutting out so he stopped making tunes?

In retrospect I should have recommended different tunes that he might be able relate to, like the undisputed kings of drum and bleepy.
