anyone else into this?

im gonna buy a car soon.hobbie shop in newmarket has pretty sweet startup kits for a few hundy,

china and japan has some manufacturers producing retro toyotas,mazdas etc

tamiya is about to release the series-1 rx7 which im definitely getting....

shitloads of prebuilt cars on ebay and loads of upgrade parts on trademe too.

 

zakk,i know your keen.if you dont already have one...

 

i also have an underground carpark with smooth concrete...

Mates got one n its wicked fun havn a hoon after a blaze. I been sayin for months I needa get one as I live in the industrial area in albany so theres plenty of smooth flat. Weekly meetups would be choice . My mate got his off trademe for near 2hundy n reckons theres plenty of bargins out there.

ive just scored this audi touring car but its stock as at the moment while waiting on new parts to get it going...

ripped the stickers off and gave it a primer grey.pretty much gonna smash this one into some walls until i get my mazda rx3 coupe shell.

$190 for the stock chassis,motor,wheels,shell.

 

still need to spend a bit more to get it going.

gotta get:

electronic speed controller

transmitter and receiver

battery and charger

steering servo

drift tires and some sick rims....

plus you can buy all alloy upgrade parts to replace everything it already has.so thats on the cards too once its running.

there's a comp on this sunday im going to check out and hopefully score some bits that i need.

Do they have a common axle or do they have diffs?

Also can you get 4WD ones?

Interesting... do most people get the 4wd drift on? Whats the story... is a Rwd with a lock diff not the go?

yup....4wd with a locked diff at the rear....

 

i should be up and running this weekend,my mate just bought one too so we are watching the letterbox like little kids stalking santa...

 

sam they go fast as with normal tires but the drift tires are mad hard plastic so it drifts mean....

i will post a video once im going...

Was into this for a little while I have got a tt01 sitting in the garage with the usual mods and a FD rx7 shell

Would fully recommend going with lipos for battery's more power and longer run times also make sure you get a digital controller no risk of interference that way.

Check out www.hobbyking.com for battery's, chargers, esc's etc. Cheap as chips on there but sum stuff is a bit nasty

Will post up sum pics of my car and maybe a little video if I get time.

should hook up for a drift sometime.....my buddy and i have both got cars now so we are well keen.....

Yea I'm keen for a drift I charged my battery's last nite do you have a good spot? Will pm you my number. Don't really have many bits spare but mite have something your after will have to have a look through
