Ducky
Anyone done work for Android/ iOS or other C++/JAVA ObjectC stuff? Need some input on best practices, developing a universal app for most smart phones. Whether to use generic framework outputters like Phone GAp etc... any theories thoughts or knowledge appreciated. Known One
Yea, I've done a substantial amount of Android native dev in Java... I know of two different programmers using PhoneGap... One of them just had a large project fail due to a lack luster result from using PhoneGap over going native. The project was for one of NZ's largest news outlets. You simply can't build the same quality app in a lot of cases using PhoneGap as you could going Native... but obviously it's difficult to develop for multiple platforms. My advice would be to ask here -> http://www.reddit.com/r/androiddev/ I don't think many (if any) other people here do Mobile development... I could be wrong though StackOverflow.com is another really good resource, but it's more for specific questions about coding and a generic question like yours won't usually be answered with few exceptions. My 2c would be fuck Apple and go Android. Apple has a terrible gating process and generally they just suck major balls (plus you can't develop Object C without a Mac). Android is on the rise, you would miss out of a large slice of pie going purely towards Android users, but you won't regret it from a purely coding point of view.
