Keeen.

Booked my tickets for the Tribe Called Quest doco.

Haven't had a decent look through the programme but also keen to check out Magic Trip, the one about Ken Kesey.

But yea, as always there is far too many to see with so lil time..... and funds.

Recommendations ?

I've got 9 booked! (Beats, Rhymes and Life one of them)

Catalyst and I spent over 200 bucks on tickets this year but so so worth it IMO. Some of the best films I've seen are from previous festivals (but also some of the worst!)

One of the movies I'm looking forward to is Jiro Dreams of Sushi about a 85 year old master sushi chef in Japan

Hard to recommend any without seeing them though.

Penciled in twelve. Whether i get to them or not is another thing. Fingers crossed i can make it to all of them though.

13 Assassins

Animation Now

The Tree Of Life

Jiro Dreams Of Sushi

Cold Fish

Taxi Driver

I Saw The Devil

Metropolis

The Last Circus

Hobo With A Shotgun

Melancholia

Nosferatu

For me, a nice combo of classic and my appreciation for exploitation.

Also recommend:

The Man From Nowhere

The Yellow Sea

La Dolce Vita

The Turin House

The Woman

Once Upon A Time In Anatolia

Wild River

Viva Riva!

Magic Trip

Tabloid

A Cat In Paris

Bobby Fischer Against The World

Terri

Wouldn't mind seeing this years sick fuck inclusion, which I think is The Woman.

Haha yeah, i ummed and ahhed about this one. Unfortunately, my tolerance of torture porn has dwindled over the years.

I've seen 13 Assassins, pretty good.

Best movie I've seen in a long time imo

Really cool! Lol @ Nato though.

Animation Now was inspiring. As was Jiro, but for completely different reasons.

Cold Fish...those crazy Japanese!

Next - Taxi Driver.

Tree of Life was an amazing movie. Definitely not for everyone but I highly recommend checking it out... then telling me what you thought. It was like no movie I've seen before. It provoked a lot of interesting thoughts and conversation.

Jiro Dreams of Sushi was good but not for any wisdom from Jiro (it was the same old story there) but more for seeing inside an awesome tiny sushi shop and watching the chefs with amazing skills.

Off to Winter Vacation tonight, not sure what to expect there but we'll see
