perceptualChaos
I don't really support any of the parties, but I guess the main issues for me at the moment are the introduction of a capital gains tax, and prioritizing investment into public transport in Auckland over the "holiday highway" (both Labour and Green's policies). Also not selling NZ assets to pay the deficit would be nice if possible. I think I might give my North Shore electorate vote to Labour and my party vote to Greens - the latter simply because I think National are going to win, whereas there is a (very) slim chance that the Green's could go into coalition with National, which would be better than them going into coalition with ACT / NZ First etc. As for the referendum, after a bit of thinking I have decided to vote to keep MMP, and choose STV as my preferred alternative. I think STV is probably better than MMP, but since FPP is the next most popular system after MMP, voting to scrap MMP is almost like a vote for FPP. Nato
Yes and bear in mind voting to keep MMP is also voting to review and improve it.

Interesting to note that all those policies you mentioned are green policies that Labour have jumped on the back of and claimed as their own (personally I don't have much issue with this as these policies need major party support). I have also noticed quite a few people who would normally support green saying that they would probably vote labour in order to get National out of government but we need to remember that with MMP that is not necessarily needed if Labour/Green/Mana(?) form a coalition government, then again the greens haven't ruled out working with National though I doubt they'd form a coalition with them. Also now that I think of it, Mana probably won't be keen on forming a coalition with labour after they shafted the Maori Party on the foreshore and seabed issue, I'm sure Hone is still fuming over that. This election year has been an interesting one, very entertaining. No prizes for guessing which way I'm leaning this election.

Ignition
If you could vote non-confidence, I might actually partake in this redundant chode selector competition. Alas, I'm not even bothering. Suxzs, I know.

jagermikester
Take the test on the left of the page, a few simple questions will gauge your politial stance on a chart in comparison to party lines. It is current and was most helpful! http://www.politicalcompass.org/nz2011

phonetics
Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party FTMFW f*ck it, i might just vote for them, lol one of my major gripes is that i only get leaflets from Labour or National...i guess the Greens don't want to use the paper but srsly, i couple more leaflets from other parties would aid my voting confidence! still don't know who to vote for...won't be National, that's for sure. could go into reasons, but i think we all know National's policies!? Nato
I took the quiz and thought it was full of poorly written, ambiguous and completely loaded questions. Regardless, I came out exactly where I thought I would; firmly in the left/libertarian quarter.

Grind
I took the quiz and thought it was full of poorly written, ambiguous and completely loaded questions. perceptualChaos
Regardless, I came out exactly where I thought I would; firmly in the left/libertarian quarter. yeah me too obviously... see the problem with this picture is that the only party in that corner is the Greens, who couldn't run the country if there lives depended on it. perceptualChaos
I took the quiz and thought it was full of poorly written, ambiguous and completely loaded questions They are a bit old school, and obviously not directly relevant to the NZ "election issues" but I thought they were alright from a basic ideological perspective. What were a few of the questions that you didn't like, and how would you change them? I have become a bit more central since the last time I took that same test (~5 years ago?)... Presumably because I changed a lot of my answers from "strongly agree"/"strongly disagree" to "agree"/"disagree".

Presumably because I changed a lot of my answers from "strongly agree"/"strongly disagree" to "agree"/"disagree". It's natural for children to keep some secrets from their parents. What is this, questioning if we believe in a "state of nature" for things? It isn't asking us whether we think it's ok that children keep things from their parents or not. The prime function of schooling should be to equip the future generation to find jobs. Pre-school, primary, intermediate, secondary and tertiary should all have entirely different aims as to what they are trying to achieve. Ambiguous. When you are troubled, it's better not to think about it, but to keep busy with more cheerful things. huh Mothers may have careers, but their first duty is to be homemakers. Their first duty should be to take care of the child as best they can, which could be through a number of different routes, career mums with stay at home husbands and stay at home mums with career husbands. For some being homemaker is the best option for their kids, for others probably not.
Known One
hmm... I didn't really have a problem with any of those questions... for each it was pretty clear what the underlying question was designed to measure... and for each it was a pretty straight forward answer.
