Ignition
If you could vote non-confidence, I might actually partake in this redundant chode selector competition. Alas, I'm not even bothering. Suxzs, I know. You should at least vote in the referendum... You just need to fax the forms in from your office before this Saturday. https://secure.elections.org.nz/app/enrol/dvp/ Cheers for the link man, gonna get my votes faxed tonight. perceptualChaos
so we all sticking with MMP or for another voting system? Keep MMP for question one and STV as preferred alternative for question two IMO. It's not worth risking going back to FPP.

jagermikester
OK, I think I finally found a good way to gauge your political party leanings and it's a bit of fun too! http://www.onthefence.co.nz/ ps. Keep MMP, just review it slightly to avoid having minor parties hijacking the system whilst still giving them fair representation...

perceptualChaos
I'm going to fax in my vote today... The best election result for me would be National being forced to go into coalition with the Greens, so I will be voting AGAINST national in the MP vote (i.e. for Labour's Vivenne Goldsmith) and voting for the Greens with my party vote. It pains me to say this, but I think a Labour led super-coalition would probably be worse for the country than National governing alone. IMO the greens overall have a complete lack of grasp on reality / ability to run a country, but they would probably add a good balancing factor to National's neoliberalism and deceit. It might even give the Green's a chance to learn a thing or two.

You have to wonder under what conditions that Green/Nat coalition would occur because the Greens have as good as said a confidence and supply coalition with National won't happen. Whether that is true or just lip service to retain their on the fence green/labour voters remains to be seen I guess.
robyn
I am pretty nervous about this election but also can't wait til this is done and Tau Henare can go back to doing nothing but committing minor traffic infringements in my community. He irks me so much I wrote him a massive letter last week in rebuttal to the last load of tripe he sent me, and then yesterday when I was driving home he had about 20 small children holding signs for him on the side of the road. Reminded me of the Westboro church.

Yeah, after actually looking at the numbers it seems more and more unlikely to even be possible... Pretty much the only way would be if National's numbers drop substantially while labour and greens don't increase enough to govern, NZ first gets in but ACT doesn't, and then National and Greens form some kind of understanding with Winnie keeping his nose out of things. National governing alone and/or with a token MOU with minor parties seems to be by far the most likely outcome. On further thought I have decided to abstain in the electorate vote as I don't support any of the MPs running for East Coast Bays, and it has very little effect on anything anyway. Nato
We knew it would be blue but it was a damn sad turnout for the left. Even if you add Labour and Green together you get like 38% That is some weak-ass shit. Worst parts though are Jacinda losing to Nikki Kaye in central and Paula Bennet retaining Waitakere. What the fuck Auckland!
Josh Grant
The largest problem that the left faces, is their supporters not enrolled / voting. Either because they feel their vote won't make a difference or just can't be fucked. I heard Christchurch had National and Labour at the exact same votes. A solid example on how important ONE (your) vote can be
