Pakage
I watch quite a lot of documentaries online, mainly just as background noise while im working. Thought id start a thread up. Here's an interesting one i watched today: Paradise or Oblivion KphWsnhZ4Ag This documentary details the root causes of the systemic value disorders and detrimental symptoms caused by our current established system. This video presentation advocates a new socio-economic system, which is updated to present-day knowledge, featuring the life-long work of Social Engineer, Futurist, Inventor and Industrial Designer Jacque Fresco, which he calls a Resource-Based Economy. The film details the need to outgrow the dated and inefficient methods of politics, law, business, or any other "establishment" notions of human affairs, and use the methods of science, combined with high technology, to provide for the needs of all the world's people. It is not based on the opinions of the political and financial elite or on illusionary so-called democracies, but on maintaining a dynamic equilibrium with the planet that could ultimately provide abundance for all people. Paradise or Oblivion, by The Venus Project, introduces the viewer to a more appropriate value system that would be required to enable this caring and holistic approach to benefit human civilization. This alternative surpasses the need for a monetary-based, controlled, and scarcity-oriented environment, which we find ourselves in today. Some very interesting concepts, seems a bit pie in the sky though. We seem so far away from these ideals its hard to fathom the transition process. Worth a watch i think. robyn
MYB_Oys_6F0 Watched this one a couple of weeks back and it is awesome. In conjunction with the Ali/Foreman "Rumble in the Jungle" fight in 1974 some Jewish guys from New York decided it would be cool to arrange a massive music festival in Zaire to coincide with the fight. Their idea was to bring legendary African-American musicians (incl James Brown in his prime and BB King) to Africa for the first time in their lives, as well as giving local groups the chance to play at the kind of event they would never have dreamed possible. This footage is all stuff that didn't make it into the 1995 doco "When we were kings" about the fight itself. One of the producers came across this unedited footage of the concert which had been packed away and forgotten for 20 years and decided it was too special not to share so he made this separate film which focuses primarily on the concert but has heaps of cool footage of Ali hanging out with all the musos... still can't decide if he's insane or a genius (or a bit of both). Pakage
Journey to the Edge of the Universe - Full HD 1080p wGCOmVQiRNY National Geographic presents the first accurate non-stop voyage from Earth to the edge of the Universe using a single, unbroken shot through the use of spectacular CGI (Computer-Generated Imagery) technology. Building on images taken from the Hubble telescope, Journey to the Edge of the Universe explores the science and history behind the distant celestial bodies in the solar system. This spectacular, epic voyage across the cosmos, takes us from the Earth, past the Moon and our neighboring planets, out of our Solar System, to the nearest stars, nebulae and galaxies and beyond -- right to the edge of the Universe itself. When you finish this video, you will walk away from it with an awareness that you never had before, of the unseen astronomically massive universe that we float around on like a spec of dust in the ocean. This video takes you on a journey through the universe as if you are watching a Sci Fi adventure. Yet you constantly have to remind yourself that what you're seeing is really out there. About to watch this, looks good to me!

Pakage
BBC - Playing God (720P) AKxmqMH4w_A Broadcast (2012) Adam Rutherford meets a new creature created by American scientists, the spider-goat. It is part goat, part spider, and its milk can be used to create artificial spider's web. It is part of a new field of research, synthetic biology, with a radical aim: to break down nature into spare parts so that we can rebuild it however we please. This technology is already being used to make bio-diesel to power cars. Other researchers are looking at how we might, one day, control human emotions by sending 'biological machines' into our brains. Pakage
The Iceman Tapes - Inside The Mind Of A Mafia Hitman psoq8qYvx18 Richard Leonard "The Iceman" Kuklinski (April 11, 1935 – March 5, 2006) was an American contract killer. The 6'5", 300 pound Kuklinski worked for Newark's DeCavalcante crime family and New York City's Five Families. He claimed to have murdered over 100, or even 250 men (sources vary) between 1948 and 1986. He claimed to have committed his first murder at the age of 13. Richard Kuklinski lived with his wife and three children in suburban Dumont, New Jersey before his arrest. Richard Kuklinski gets diagnosed by a psychiatrist. Looks brutal and intense.
