Yup. Marketing attempt gone wrong. When the idea was pitched to us we thought it was a great novel idea to get recognition in a notoriously difficult profession. We learned that if you put your head out, be prepared to have it chopped down!

People like hiding behind their computers and throwing harsh, harsh abuse at anyone or anything they dislike. Luckily people in NZ are no way as harsh as other countries.

Hey what about actually making a video that represents yourself as an artist and an individual? Just because there is ingrained patters and tricks in marketing that doesn't mean you need to stick to them.

I would much rather see something that represents you than a half arse attempt at marketing. If you show more of yourself/ideas people that already relate to your music will get a better idea of your personality. It may not benefit you in the short term, but if you really are keen to stick with the music trade then i'm sure it will be better in the long run.
