Pakage Posted July 11, 2012 Share Posted July 11, 2012 New Zealanders need to involve themselves in a forthcoming review of copyright law or they will "suffer what the conglomerates and corporates" hand to them, says a District Court Judge. Speaking from the audience at yesterday's NetHui conference, Judge David Harvey said copyright concerned everybody and urged people to become interested. "We have to be interested in this, because if we aren't then we'll be told what will happen by the big, vested interests. I would urge you to put your views forward in the 2013 review of the Copyright Act, because if you don't then you will have to suffer what the conglomerates and corporates give you," Judge Harvey said. This article was buried way in the back of the NZ Herald website, i only found it because it came through to my android app. This needs to be reposted. We just sat back and took law changes that the rest of the world held millions strong marches against. We really need to make some fucking noise about it this time round before we get handed an even heavier serving of shut-the-fuck-up from the corporations.
